Doctor Strange // A Movie Review

Hey guys! So, in the hectic-ness of NaNo, I managed to head down to the theater with a friend and watch Doctor Strange.

Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilising a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel Cinematic Universe

High Lights:

  • The ACTION. It was never dull and all the fight scenes were really well done.
  • The HUMOR. For real though, it was hilarious, and really kept the mood light.
  • The special effects were AMAZING. It was really interesting to watch and I LOVED how the ‘magic’ was portrayed.
  • Also, there’s this adorable little cape that is just…adorable. ❤ He’s hilarious and alive and it’s great. 🙂
  • The plot was really thought out and I know some people will see the whole ‘time is relative’ thing as old hat, but I really liked it in this movie.
  • DOCTOR STRANGE. The entire reason of this movie. At first, he’s kinda of a mean guy, but as the story progresses, he’s actually really cool and funny. I LOVED how Benedict Cumberbatch portrayed him. And I also thought his American accent sounded very strange (ha, see what I did there?) He did it really well, it just felt weird, you know?
  • Wong is hilarious. That is all. 🙂

Low Lights:

  • I was a bit wary at first, since it really seemed to be pushing the sorcery and occult and such. And there is a good deal of that in the movie, but I felt it didn’t detract from the story.
  • A few parts were super, super intense. Like, really scary. But they helped push the story along, so I didn’t mind it too much.
  • As with all Marvel movies, there was a bit of swearing, but much less so than I’ve seen in other movies (at least I think so).

If you haven’t already seen it, (and even if you have!) I highly recommend watching this movie. Plus, I have a feeling Doctor Strange is going to be a big part of the MCU (*cough cough* THE TWO CLIPS AT THE END *cough cough*), so that’s exciting. 😀

There you are, my little review. 🙂 I hope you got something out of it, and if you’ve already watched the movie, WE CAN TALK ABOUT IT. LIKE, A LOT. ❤

Captain America: Civil War // A Movie Review

So, I very recently saw Civil War so I thought I would write a short kind of review-type-thingy (actually just me rambling 😀 ) about it (with no spoilers) instead of a Character Conversation. 🙂

This was possibly the most stressful, but complete awesome Marvel movie I’ve yet to see. 😀

There wasn’t really a major plot per se, but I think the fact that the teams are divided and fighting against each other is reason enough to watch.

It was really hard for me, because I felt that Cap was fighting for the right reasons, but…I don’t know. Iron Man just has a special place in my heart. His was the first Marvel movie I ever watched.

But the teams. THE TEAMS. IT WAS SO GREAT.

It was SO STRESSFUL. Spiderman was basically yes, and Ant-man…YES. Vision is also yes. Hawkeye, yes. SO MUCH YES. The banter between the different heroes was hilarious.

Of course, Tony and Steve weren’t doing much of that. It felt like hey were too dead set on killing each other that they didn’t have time for…talking? I don’t know.

Also, BUCKY!!!!!!!!!!! YES-NESS!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT ALSO NO!!!!!!!!!!!! I am having some major feels about him…to. much. feeling. I just…HELP ME.

This face broke me. It's the face of pure agony and, yes, yes, it just fucking broke me.

THE ENDING THOUGH. *chokes and flails* I can’t actually fully process what just happened. Like…wait WHAT?!

So yeah. Stuff happened.

Sweating bullets, Bucky feels, and PAIN. Which we all know means GO SEE IT. NOW. O_O

And if you’ve already seen it we can bawl and freak out together!!!

*fangirls extremely hard*

*faints, whispering unintelligibly about Bucky*

War Room // A Movie Review

This movie…was so good!

Here’s the synopsis from IMDB:

Filled with heart, humor, and wit, WAR ROOM follows Tony and Elizabeth Jordan, a couple who seemingly have it all-great jobs, a beautiful daughter, their dream home. But appearances can be deceiving. In reality, their marriage has become a war zone and their daughter is collateral damage. With guidance from Miss Clara, an older, wiser woman, Elizabeth discovers she can start fighting for her family instead of against them. As the power of prayer and Elizabeth’s newly energized faith transform her life, will Tony join the fight and become the man he knows he needs to be? Together, their real enemy doesn’t have a prayer.

I really enjoyed this movie!

I thought the actors (and actresses) were all AMAZINGLY well done.

The plot was very interesting and I found that the characters were really well brought out in that. I felt very close to them.

Also a plus, all the Christian music! ❤ I heard TobyMac, Building429, and Mandisa that I can remember.

This also really spoke to me in that we should all be prayer warriors. Pray for others. Never be afraid to talk to God. Because He’s always listening. And he knows what you’re going through. 🙂

One more thing you should probably know…YOU WILL CRY. A LOT.

Crying…lots of it.

But trust me! This is a great movie.

5/5 stars.

Descendants // A Movie Review

I just watched Descendants, so I thought I’d give you a little review! 🙂

When I first saw this, I thought Oh great, another cheesy Disney channel movie…

It is pretty cheesy, but a good kind of cheesy. Like the kind that entertains you even though sometimes you’re cringing a bit. 😛

I thought the characters were well portrayed and the casting was good. Plus, WOW they are good dancers!

There was a lot of singing and I felt that it was unnecessary, the movie would’ve been perfectly fine without it.

But all in all, this is a fun watch. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

I rate it 4/5 stars.

Inside Out // A Movie Review

Hello! I thought I’d give you a little review on Inside Out since I saw it yesterday.

Here we go!

Inside Out (2015) Wallpaper - Original size, download now.

What I thought of:

Plot – I was really emotionally (no pun intended) attached to all of the characters, especially Riley. I really felt her and understood her pain in moving. Getting to see what was going on inside her mind was a really cool and intriguing concept. I really liked how it all turned out in the end as well.

Characters –

Riley – She is just such a great character and I would really just love to be her friend, okay?! She has been through a lot and I really think that has made her stronger.

Joy – Joy is such a…joyful girl, as her name would put it. She is bursting to the seams with exuberance and light and life! I really liked her hilarious personality and I think Amy Poehler did a great job voicing her.

Sadness – Everyone in my family loved Sadness’…humor, if that makes sense. We will forever being quoting…’Remember that movie where the dog dies?” If you’ve watched, you’ll know what I mean. 🙂 And I really like how in the end, she really is needed. That was a really good lesson for me and my family.

Anger – This was the character my brother laughed at the most. Yep, he was pretty funny. I thought he was really well portrayed and really, very funny.

Fear – Also another character my brother (and me!) laughed at a lot. He was really funny and well done.

Disgust – This was my other sister’s favorite character. I thought she was funny in a snotty kind of way, you know? Mindy Kaling did amazing. 🙂

Bing Bong – I will not speak of him. Okay…I will. He was really funny! And kind of…crazy…but still! That is all I will say…

All other minor characters were really great as well!

All in all, I think this movie deserves a sequel. I think they could really expound off of a ton of stuff that happened. I would totally go for a sequel, but it also ended very well as to just leave it at that.

That’s all I have for you right now, but I will blog again soon! 😉
