Hey guys! I’m back this month with another tag, and I’m very excited to get into it because it was created by the lovely Christine Smith with the help of eleven other fantastic bloggers listed in the featured image above. Go give them all some love, and let’s jump right into March Muchness!
List six impossible things youโd love to do โ wild and crazy answers 100% welcome!
- I would love to visit the lost city of Atlantis. It’d be so cool to see all the fish and maybe a mermaid or two!
- I’d like to sprout wings for a few days, fly around and explore the forest. Fairies have always enchanted me, so I’d love to be one for a while.
- I think it’d be neat to be a superhero. I’ve always had a deep desire to help people, and being a superhero would make it so easy to help others with impossible things!
- I’ve always liked the idea of traveling back in time. I’d love to see what life was like in the 1800s, 1700s, or even 1600s. It would be so fascinating having a broader view of time.
- I would totally love to have telekinesis. You would not BELIEVE the amount of times I’ve wished I could grab something or turn something off that is out of reach. It would be so helpful.
- I would love to live in a world with a little dash of magical realism. What would it be like if simple magic was just another fundamental element of our world? It would make life a lot more interesting, that’s for sure…

What is a topic that grew curiouser and curiouser the more you studied/researched it?
I have this really niche interest in defunct, abandoned, and old amusement parks, attractions, animatronics, and rides. I stumbled on a YouTube video one day (by Defunctland, actually), and I was immediately intrigued. Twenty videos later, I was hooked. There’s something, eerily fascinating and weirdly nostalgic about old theme park lore.

If you could invite three fictional characters to a tea party, who would they be?
I would choose three people who I was sure would get along, so there wouldn’t be any weapons drawn or fights broken out. Based on my previous 5-star reads, a tea party with Jonathan Strange from Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, Jeremiah Goodbye from What Blooms from Dust, and Angel from Dark is the Night would be a real interesting time. ๐

Which Wonderland character do you feel youโre the most like?
I could see myself as the Dormouse. Always halfway asleep, haha. “You might just as well say that “I breathe when I sleep” is the same thing as “I sleep when I breathe”!”

If you could drink a magic potion that changed one thing about you, what would it be?
I think I would be scared to change anything about myself, honestly. Well, maybe I would settle my mind to keep it from buzzing all the time. Teach it to calm down once in a while! Give myself a quieter brain. Goodness knows that would be nice when I’m trying to fall asleep at night and all I can think of is that random, embarrassing thing I did 10+ years ago…

How IS a raven like a writing desk?
I think the real question is how ISN’T it?

If you were to make an enemy of Father Time, what time in the day would you choose to repeat?
Late morning, like 10:00-11:00 is one of my favorite times of the day, so I wouldn’t be too upset if I had to live forever in that period. It’s just so nice and peaceful, the day has begun, but isn’t quite in full swing. And the sun is out (well…usually) but it’s not the heat of the afternoon yet. It’s a nice time.

If you fell down a rabbit hole, what would the land you pop into look like?
I think it would be an upside down world, since underground is kind of just the reverse of above ground. Trees that grow from the sky, and birds that pitter-patter on the ground. Everything would be topsy-turvy, but it would make sense if you really looked at it. It’d be a weirdly pleasant place.

If you could have the body of one type of creature and the head of another (for example, the Mock Turtle has the body of a turtle and the head of a calf), what would that combination be and why?
Oof. I like being a human, thank you very much. ๐ But I guess if I had to choose, I’d like to be a mermaid or a centaur. It’d be fun to be able to swim well underneath the waves, but it’d also be fun to be able to gallop and run with the wind in your hair. Or, ooh, have you seen those bird women, with the head of a lady and the body of a sparrow? I don’t know…

Have you read or written anything stylistically close to Alice in Wonderland? Tell us about it.
Alice in Wonderland has such a distinctly whimsical and improbable style that I don’t think I could replicate properly if I tried. But I have delved a bit into weird fiction. A while ago, I wrote a short story about a guy working at DQ who encounters three strange, unearthly visitors, who actually turn out to be shapeshifters. It was a fun exercise, and it had that eeriness and otherness that I get from AiW.

If you could either be as tall as a tree or as small as a mouse for an hour, which would you choose and what would you do?
I would definitely rather be small. I could sneak into so many places! And explore things from a new perspective. It would be so fascinating seeing everything from such a tiny point of view. I think it would make me think differently about things, and it would definitely spark some story ideas!

If you could give your younger or future self one piece of Very Good Advice, what would it be?
If I could give my younger self one piece of Very Good Advice, it would be:
Don’t be so afraid.
I was the nervous, anxious tween and teen who had a mini heart attack when I got invited to a sleepover. I had a really hard time making friends because I didn’t trust anyone and I thought everyone didn’t like me and thought I was weird.
Being older now, I see that just isn’t true. I still have trust issues, and I still have anxiety, but I would try to drill into my younger self’s brain: stop being afraid. Of everything. Of people. Of relationships. Of life. It’s not always going to be so hard, and you need to realize that this is such a small, small portion of your existence. It’ll be okay.
Wow, I didn’t expect to get so personal there. Now that you know my deepest, darkest secrets… ๐

I love hearing from you! ^_^
