Hey guys! So, I’m sure you all know that Christmas is fast approaching and it’s the time of year when you don’t want to leave your house because driving is a nightmare and it’s absolutely FRIGID outside. (You guys down south are LUCKY.)
But it despite being cold and unwelcoming outside, I’m blessed to have a warm inside where I can snuggle up and watch Christmas movies. 😀 So since the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful, I thought I would divulge my top favorite movies for the season. Enjoy.
The Toy that Saved Christmas
VeggieTales will always have a place in my heart. I remember watching this when I was a little thing, back when animation was still so new and this was just AMAZING. Plus you learn a lesson at the end! I mean, I probably didn’t realize that there was a lesson when I was really young, but it must’ve taught me something, I don’t know.
Home Alone
I recently heard on the radio that Home Alone is Minnesota’s favorite Christmas movie. Though I wouldn’t call this my favorite, it’s still a really funny movie. The songs make me feel nostalgic, (even though I wasn’t around when this movie came out), and it just fills a little piece of my heart with happiness.
Frosty the Snowman
This was a staple of my childhood Christmases. I watched it multiple times every year around Christmas time and I basically had the whole movie memorized. I also remember watching the sequel, Frosty Returns, multiple times too. I still never figured out why he says ‘Happy Birthday’ though…
The Year Without a Santa Claus
This is one of those old movies that just makes you smile. I love the Heat and Cold Misers the best. I was always excited when their scene came on. I still get their songs stuck in my head every year. And really, stop motion is just so great. It makes everything seem homey and cozy, like everything is right with the world.
The Santa Clause
I’ve watched this and both sequels so many times, if I watched it now I would know exactly what’s going to happen. And I remember the first time I watched this being so proud that I recognized the characters voices from other movies. I thought I was so cool. XD
The Polar Express
I know a lot of people say that this movie is like super creepy looking, but I like it! The whole story is really cool, I love how all the characters have their own stories, and the ending just makes me so happy. Like waking up from a dream. Plus Josh Groban music is great, A+.
It’s a Wonderful Life
Okay, so maybe you guys remember me posting about this a while ago, but I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS MOVIE BEFORE?? But this year, we finally got my whole family together, and we watched it and it was GREAT. I loved it so much. I finally understand a whole lot of references much better now. XD
Arthur Christmas
So, this one isn’t very well-known, but I’ve watched it a few times now, and I just think it’s such a clever, well-thought-out movie! And it’s HILARIOUS. The characters are so funny! And it’s just heartwarming and meaningful and gah. I love it.
A Charlie Brown Christmas
Half an hour of nostalgia. The dancing scene, the Christmas tree, the singing, Linus telling the story of Jesus, it’s just so simple and good. What else is there to say?
Elf
My favorite Christmas movie of all time. I really don’t need to explain this one. If you haven’t watched it WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE. And if you have, well good for you, you rock. *gives you world’s best cup of coffee* 🙂
I love hearing from you! ^_^
